Jackson Rathbone is opening up about why he decided on a non-traditional name for his baby girl Presley Bowie, who was born May 31.
“Presley is just a name I’ve always loved,” the former Twilight star, 31, tells PEOPLE. “It’s kind of rockabilly, a little bit of my Southern roots and heritage. And Bowie is a family name from my mother’s side. And I’m also a fan of David Bowie, so it’s a tribute.”
Already father to 4-year-old son Monroe Jackson VI with wife Sheila, 28, Rathbone was excited to be having a girl.
“Having a boy first and then a girl, I think it’s going to make [Monroe] a better man when he grows up,” says Rathbone, who adds that his son has been “the sweetest big brother.”
“Whenever we want to change a diaper, he wants to help, and he gets us a diaper, and he’ll get the wipes if we’re in a different room,” the actor and musician continues. “He likes to hold her and give her kisses, tell her goodnight.”
According to Deadline, Jackson is listed as one of the cast members that are set to star in the Boxing Biopic ‘Heart Baby’. Details about the project below.
The film is from the same screenwriter whose Tumbleweeds won the filmmakers trophy for Gavin O’Connor at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival. The new pic tells the true story of a convict named George Lee Martin who became infamous in the Tennessee prison system as an unbeatable boxer. When he is offered an opportunity at freedom in exchange for fighting for Team USA in the 1984 Olympic Games, he shocks everyone by saying no.
“You will not find anything about this story anywhere on the web except an article about the John Tate/Larry Holmes fight being canceled in 1984,” said Shelton, who added that the movie will delve into the reason why.
Shelton, Shawn Caulin-Young and Kim Barnard are producing the film. George co-stars include Jackson Rathbone (Twilight: Breaking Dawn), Quinton Aaron (The Blind Side), Keir O’Donnell (American Sniper), Justice Leak (Insurgent), Abe Benrubi (Bosch), Michael Badalucco (Bones) and Ann Cusack (Nightcrawler) among others.

Looks like Jackson is reuniting with his Twilight co-star, Kellan! The duo are set to star in Adi Shankar’s ‘Gods and Secrets’
The Power/Rangers fan film and The Grey producer Adi Shankar is set to make his directorial debut alongside Stewart Yost on Adi Shankar’s Gods And Secrets. The “dark” drama will mine territory similar to Alan Moore’s Watchmen, exploring the darker logical underpinnings of superhero tropes. In a world in which superheroes exist, personal foibles and the resulting celebrity culture are front and center. In the story, tragedy has struck the superheroic team Guardians of Justice, and in its aftermath secrets are revealed, lives are changed, and the war to end all wars begins.
WWE’s Diamond Dallas Page, Jackson Rathbone (Twilight Saga), Kellan Lutz, Sharni Vinson and Andy Milonakis star. Created by Shankar, Jenni Powell (The Lizzie Bennet Diaries), and Shawn Deloache (New Adventures of Peter and Wendy), it’s produced by Discourse Media. Rathbone has also signed on a producer.

Partly inspired by the real life of Jackson Rathbone (Twilight Saga), comes the story of Jeremiah Bell (J.Rathbone), a young writer who journeys across the country, putting himself in the middle of other people’s lives…and their living rooms.
From the living room couch, Jeremiah gets a front row seat to his hosts’ secrets and struggles – as each episode lands him in a different home with different hosts and the constant affirmation that people are… strange.”

Set in Hawaii, Pali Road tells the story of a young doctor who wakes up from a car accident and discovers she is married to another man and living a life she can’t remember.
The movie “Pali Road” wrapped up a month of filming on Oahu Friday. Cast and crew shot their final scenes at The Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki.
“Pali Road” is a mystery-thriller set in Hawaii that tells the story of a female doctor who wakes up after a car accident and realizes that her life is completely different than she once knew.
The movie stars Jackson Rathbone of “The Twilight Saga,” Sung Kang of the “Fast and Furious” franchise and Henry Ian Cusick of “Lost.” The Peruvian-born actor now lives in Hawaii.
Jackson Rathbone (Twilight), Sung Kang (Fast & Furious) and Michelle ChenTrends COSMO Beauty Awards 2014 In Shanghai have been cast in Pali Road, a mystery-thriller from Crimson Forest Entertainment that’s now filming in Honolulu. The film tells the story of a young woman who suffers a terrible car accident the night her boyfriend proposes to her. It’s the first project in a slate of three films that Crimson is co-producing with Dadi Digital Film, China Film Assist, and Cuixing Media Group.
Rathbone played Jasper Hale in all the Twilight Saga films, and co-starred as Sokka in The Last Airbender. He’s repped by Paradigm, LINK Entertainment, and attorney Peter Nelson. Kang, who starred in the Fast & Furious franchise, is with Management 360, WME, and attorney Rick Genow. Chen is best known for her starring role in You Are The Apple Of My Eye, for which she received the Asia Rising Star Award.
“We are delighted to work with such a talented cast on this project,” said director Jonathan Lim, who also serves as chief executive officer of Crimson Forest Entertainment. “Pali Road captures the thrust of our distribution goals, as we look to bring high-quality entertainment to audiences in China and worldwide.”
Twilight actor Jackson Rathbone also caught up with Celebrity Baby Scoop while learning about the Go Campaign, which improves the lives of orphans and vulnerable children worldwide. He shared what it is like being a dad to his two-year-old son, Monroe Jackson Rathbone VI, with wife Sheila.
“I have a two-year-old boy,” he said. “Being a father is the greatest thing…it’s like being a part of a club that you always knew existed, but you never really knew what the membership was about. It’s the most rewarding and most wonderful thing I’ve ever done–the best piece of art I’ve ever made.”
He also shared one of his funniest fatherhood experiences.
“So they make baby-changing tables where the baby is in front of you, sideways. Just make sure that when you change your infant at first, you don’t point the butt at you. [laughs] You see, it seems like that is the easier access point, as you want to make sure the baby is clean, but that’s also the access point where it could fire and projectile towards your body. It has happened to me at 4 a.m. in the morning…I am just in my boxers and it’s 4 a.m. in the morning and it got on the wall, on me, on the carpet, and on him. I just took a moment and was like, what do I even clean first?! Where do I start at this point? [laughs] So I called to my wife and said, ‘Sheila, please, you have to help me!’ She came in and just started laughing.”
And what is his greatest tip for new dads?
“They say ‘happy wife, happy life,” Jackson said. “I am just going to go with that. Honestly, if you are about to be a new father, it’s a lot easier. It comes so naturally. That’s one thing they don’t tell you–you can read every single book there is, but none of the books tell you how seamless the transition to being a father is. You see your kid and the whole world changes for the better.”
